Home > Leaves of Absence > Parental Leave
All Associates (birthing and non-birthing) are entitled to up to 12 weeks of unpaid FMLA leave for the birth and care of a newborn or newly adopted or newly placed foster child.
Associates that give birth can use Inclusive Leave, Disability Benefits and/or Personal Time Off to supplement all or part of their income during leave.
Non-birth parents, including those adopting or fostering a new child can supplement all or some of their income with Inclusive Leave and/or Personal Time Off.
While on Parental leave, the Company will maintain an Associates current benefits for up to 12 weeks. During this time, Associates are responsible for their normal monthly premium payments. Should a leave of absence extend beyond 12 weeks, Associates will receive further communication from the payroll department to set a payment plan for benefit premiums missed while on extended leave.
Leaves Of Absence
Fischer Homes recognizes that there are important moments in life when an Associate needs to be present and away from work. Leaves of absence are available for these moments.
Associates are required to complete and submit a Leave of Absence Request Form prior to their leave to the Payroll and Benefits department.
The Payroll and Benefits department will work directly with the Associate and their supervisor to qualify and administer any approved leave.
Questions regarding leave should be directed to the Payroll and Benefits department at payroll@fischerhomes.com.
